Our
History
"Child of Destiny"
was founded in February 2002 by Joseph
Symmonand AlyceJo
Mwangi. After thirty one years of marriage, three
biological children (June, Marcus and Cynthia), over
one hundred orphans at Jubilee
Children Center in Ruai, Nairobi, pioneering Believers
Faith Church in 1987, and now ministering and fundraising
with a base in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, they still felt
God calling them to do more.
AlyceJo has a passion to help children because she
herself was an orphan in Elburgon, Kenya. AlyceJo
tells a beautiful story of how a total stranger from
New York took her in, saw something special and that
his dedication, love and compassion changed her Destiny
forever.
Due to extreme poverty, the government has no system
in place to help parentless children. Four years ago
Joseph and AlyceJo decided to seek financial
support through the generosity of people all over
the World. Today, "Child of Destiny" is supporting
Jubilee Chidren Center which provides a safe and loving
environment for over 100
children. Here, they are cared for by a professional
Christian staff, receive quality education based on
christian values, attend church, receive medical attention
and above all, are alive and well.
Every two-three
months Joseph and AlyceJo return to Kenya to get
more children out of the slums and in to the orphanage.
Their goal is to have 400 children in Primary School
and 400 in High School. The construction of the Primary
Shool is now completed and the building of the High
School is ongoing.
