Five years ago Child Of Destiny, USA, commenced the support of Jubilee Children Center Nairobi, Kenya to make a difference in the lives of orphaned children roaming in the streets and slums of Kenya, scavenging for food. They were victims of the death of both parents from HIV/AIDS pandemic. Joe Symmon and AlyceJo Mwangi stepped out to change the lives of these vulnerable orphans.

We are overwhelmed by the love and generous support we have received over the years from our caring partners. They have enabled us to buy 20 acres of land. We have drilled a 300ft well, built two dormitories to house over 300 kids, built a 10 classroom primary school and an administration center. Today over 100 orphans are drinking clean fresh water, eating a healthy diet, receiving quality education, and facing the future with confidence and determination.

- Our trip to Kenya is scheduled for April-May, July-August, and November-December 2008. We shall be joined by volunteers and short-term missions from California and the Carolinas.

Short Term Mission - Dental Care- The most urgent projects will be completion of the ongoing High School and dormitories. Currently, the children are already studying in partially completed buildings. Classrooms require plastering and painting, electricity and plumbing, fittings and fixtures.

- Three science laboratories for biology, chemistry and physics needs to be built and equipped besides the computers and labs.

- We need a dining hall, kitchen, laundry and equipments.

- Agape dispensary has reached lintel level and we hope to build the second floor and equip it. This will provide health service to our children and staff and also an outpatient to the surrounding community. The upper floor will also cater for maternity and patients wards.

- The total cost amounts to $ 1.2 million.

- We shall be grateful for your prayers, financial support, and voluntary partnership as we make a difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.

The entire project will cost $1.25m but the pressing need for the Secondary section costs $200,000.00. We sincerely believe you can help. A 50 Lb bag of cement in Kenya costs $10.00. A truck load of 9000sq.ft quarry stones costs $500.00. A completed classroom costs $13,000.00.

We kindly request you on behalf of our Jubilee Children to ask your families, your church and friends to consider partnering with CHILD OF DESTINY towards this worthy project. Please write us a check today of the amount your heart purposes. Be assured of making a huge difference in this transition. Jesus Christ said, "Whoever receives one little child like this, in My name receives Me" (Matthew 18:5).

Awaiting to receive your favorable and generous response at your earliest convenience.

In His Grip,

AlyceJo Mwangi
